Safety instructions

Please read carefully these instructions before using an ethanol insert or fireplace. As all other fire sources, an ethanol fireplace may present some risks. Non-compliance with safety instructions can cause serious burns or even a fire.

1. Information about the risks and the dangers

Do not modify the appliance, especially the combustion chamber. Never blow into the flames as these will rise or spread out and may cause burns. Wipe immediately any spilled combustible material outside the burner to avoid catching flames. Keep an adequate lateral and vertical distance while lighting the burner (1 m). Never leave the appliance unattended while in use. Keep away from children or any persons who do not know about the instructions of its use. Only light the burner when it is filled correctly with the combustible material, as described in the instruction manual. Some parts of the appliance are very hot! Please be extremely careful while handling the appliance.

2. Safety instructions for the combustible material

Do not use the combustible material to intensify the fire! Keep it away from children and from fire or any other ignition sources. Do not smoke near the combustible material. In case of ingestion, consult immediately a doctor.
Warning: Ignites easily, releases vapors which are noxious to persons and the environment. These vapors are heavier than air and can be found in cavities, trenches, and caves. Keep the container closed.

2.1 Information about how to extinguish a fire

Adapted means of fire extinction: CO2, powder or extinguisher with water, to put out a bigger fire, use an extinguisher with water or with foam resistant to alcohol. Danger due to the fuel and its combustion products or to appearing gases: May produce explosive miscellany of air and gas. In case of fire, carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide can be liberated.

2.2 Information for a handling without risk

Store in closed container and in dry and cool place. Use only in ventilated zones. Make sure that the room is well ventilated even at ground level (the vapors are heavier than air).

2.3 Safety instructions against the risk of fire and explosion

Take measures against electrostatic charges. Move away any ignition source, do not smoke.

2.4 Instructions for the elimination of waste

Neither dispose this into the domestic garbage nor the sewer. In case of return of the product, contact the producer and return the product in its original packing.

2.5 Soiled packaging

Empty packing completely, if necessary rinse with water. Respect local regulations for the disposal of the water used for cleaning and rinsing. Clean packing can be reused. The packing which cannot be cleaned must be disposed similarly as the product.

3. Installation instructions

Put the appliance on a flat surface so that it is very stable. For products which will be wall-mounted, ensure a safe horizontal installation, in accordance with the instructions. Appliances intended to be fixed to a wall must never be used before being installed. Do not place flammable objects on the top of the appliance.
National regulations must be observed for the installation and the use of the appliance. By choosing the site of the appliance, it is necessary to ensure that heat would not accumulate at the level of the ceiling and of the walls (especially for houses with weak thermal loss).

3.1 Distances of security

Leave at least 2 meters of distance between the appliance and flammable objects. The ceiling must be at a distance of at least 1.80 meters. Always have an extinguisher near the installed apparatus. The distance between the apparatus and every person must be at least 1 meter. Never put easily flammable materials / objects (for example the fuel) close to the apparatus (> 200 cm).

3.2 Dimensions minimum of the room and the ventilation

Light only in rooms having a volume of at least 270 m3. If the room where the apparatus is installed is ventilated constantly, a volume of 54 m3 minimum is necessary. Always put the appliance in a safe zone of air current. Avoid any movement or air current close to the apparatus which could have an effect on the flame.

3.3 General safety instructions

Do not forget that parts of the appliance can be hot. Be particularly careful.
